This is done from a rough sketch and a photo from a hiking trail in West Palm Beach. Part in the field and part in studio. The shadowed eye socket indicating something dark and menacing in the sockets that seem to have nothing but see everything. This is what caught my attention about this angle and why I chose to complete an artwork of this coopers hawk.
